The SME Trade Academy (SMETA) is moving into the future! Taking advantage of recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, we at the Academy have started exploring how various AI tools can make our learning content more engaging, effective, and just plain cool!

We are thus thrilled to announce an upcoming ai-powered pilot session of one of SMETA’s most popular longstanding courses: Raising Funds for Your Business! Revamped and updated, this course is designed to provide entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized business owners an overview of the processes involved in raising various kinds of funds for their activities.

The pilot session will begin on September 23rd, 2024 and will run for a total of 2 weeks. It will take approximately 4 hours to complete in full.

Why a pilot?

The SME Trade Academy is currently in the process of evaluating and refining the way we use AI to improve pedagogical outcomes. Having conducted several experiments “behind the scenes” we feel we are now ready to unveil a full AI-powered course!

We want to use this pilot session as an opportunity to gather both quantitative and qualitative data on the effectiveness of our various AI tools in view of moving to a fuller and broader release later in 2024.

What can you expect in this AI-powered pilot?

The course consists of a revamped and updated version of the existing SMETA course “Raising Funds for Your Business”. It has been enhanced with:

  • AI Forum Moderator: The forum task will be monitored and animated by an AI Moderator, who will intervene at regular intervals to respond to participants’ posts, provide additional explanations, and give greater context to help everyone learn from each other.
  • AI Assistant: A new “AI Assistant” tab will be visible on the bottom left of the modules. Feel free to ask this assistant any question you might have regarding the course’s content!
  • AI-powered Questions: New AI questions will be deployed throughout the module to gauge your understanding of the learning objectives. Through these questions, you will have the opportunity to interact with an AI Tutor, who will provide you with targeted feedback to help you refine your answers and learn from your mistakes!
